Intro

INTRO is an external time - out used frequently in Belgium for:

• Youngsters who partly go to school and partially work but who are at the same time in a problematic educational context too

• Youngsters who temporarily can’t be maintained at school

• Youngsters with a need for external time- out

Aim:

In general: development of competence, to increase the competence of choice

Specifically:

• To create (re) connection with school and learning environment

• Orientation to alternating employment

• Prevention of school- and learning fatigue

 Actions:

• General personal and attitude building

• School time out

• Coaching and training of teachers and educators

The school introduces the problem and INTRO seeks the solution.

The youngster has to learn to recognize his own anti- social behaviour.

All the time they have to evaluate themselves, but there is a lot of confrontation with the group too (they live together in small age groups).
